Scholarship Opportunities

2011 Directory

Randolph Telephone has designed the following scholarship opportunities to be “an investment in the future growth, development, and well-being of our member/subscriber families and the community.” Our company's commitment to our customers and the communities we serve extends far beyond the telecom arena. Randolph Telephone directors, management, and staff have maintained their resolve to be active corporate citizens in the counties the co-op serves, to stay involved in local community affairs, and to target contribution dollars to a variety of worthwhile civic and charitable causes. Randolph Telephone and its subsidiaries annually award $6,000 in scholarship funds to students in area high schools, sponsor art contests for senior art students, and now provide scholarships for second-year college students, as well as a summer intern program. The Board of Directors considers such scholarships an investment in the region’s future.

FRS Scholarship History/Information

Print Application

The Foundation for Rural Service was established in 1994 and, through its partnership with the National Telecommunications Cooperative Association (NTCA), promotes, educates and advocates to the public, rural telecommunications issues in order to sustain and enhance the rural way of life throughout America. In keeping with its mission, furthering education is one of FRS’ primary focuses. Our company, Randolph Telephone, is proud to be a member of NTCA and to support FRS in this worthy endeavor.

As your local telecommunications service provider, it is our place to offer this scholarship program to the students in our serving territory. Should a student from our service area be selected to receive one of the 25 national scholarship ($2,000 each), we will contribute an additional $500 to the scholarship, bringing the total one-time scholarship award to $2,500. Please note that preference will be given to students expressing an interest to return to a rural area to work following graduation.

Completed applications should be sent directly to FRS, postmarked no later than March 1, 2011. Applications postmarked to FRS after March 1st will not be accepted. Please note that each application must bear our manager or Board president’s signature to be considered eligible. Please send your applications to Randolph Telephone, Attn: Melissa Moore by February 20th, and she will take care of getting the applications signed and mailed.
